What You’ll See on Garden Walk 2016
There is a reason some gardens stand out, and the gardens on the 2016 Porter County Master Gardeners Garden Walk are no exception. Opulent containers, time-honored floras, longstanding trees, and the old-fashioned charm of hydrangeas are all featured on this year’s Walk.
If your vegetable garden is an all-you-can-eat buffet, we have a garden that uses several ingenious devices to keep the critters at bay. One garden features over 50 containers to best utilize rough terrain and limited garden space, another showcases a pond.
No matter the size of your yard or your level of experience, you will walk away from this Walk with ideas galore!
These are gardens that should be shared with family and friends, so be sure to bring your clan and your peeps! Save Saturday, July 9, on your calendar!
What Makes Our Walk Different
Not only is our Walk pretty, it’s also smart. We’re all about education and sharing. Our homeowners love to share their knowledge, and Master Gardeners are in the gardens to help you with your questions. Not only does your ticket book feature a description of each garden, it features our 1-2-3 Education Points! Each point in the book matches a numbered stake in the yard that highlights a special something in each garden.
Plus there is a door prize in every garden, donated by our wonderful sponsors, some of which also provide their businesses as locations for advance ticket sales.
So get that camera ready and save the date: Saturday, July 9, 9:00 a.m. - 4 p.m. CDT (Chicago Time).
