Scott Beuerlein, Keynote Speaker – Two Seminars
Keynote Speaker, Scott Beuerlein, horticulturist at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, will show participants “How to Become A Better Gardener-Faster!” with tips and tricks from his many years as a gardener. Scott will follow up with "Season Extenders," plants that provide late fall, winter, and early spring beauty and that are so valuable to the gardener and to wildlife. This talk lists plants which provide exceptional beauty into those difficult months.
George Brenn is a Valparaiso, Indiana, based nursery and garden center entrepreneur, local television and radio host, and editor of Landscape Plants for Indiana. George will bring his expertise as an Indiana Master Plantsman and longtime nurseryman to the 2017 Gardening Show with his presentation, "Pruning 101: How Plants React to Pruning."

Since 1986, Richard Hawke has been the Plant Evaluation Manager at the Chicago Botanic Garden and is responsible for the comparative evaluation of more than 1,100 taxa of herbaceous perennials and woody plants. Richard shares his love of perennials and shrubs in two presentations, "Top Performing Perennials for Chicagoland" and "Hydrangea Paniculata."
Mark O'Brien is the Director of the Cardno Native Plant Nursery located in Walkerton, Indiana. In the native plant business for 17 years, Mark is an advocate of native plants. Learn about the benefits, design, installation and maintenance of natives in his talk, "A Focus on Midwestern Plants."
