    Seed & Bulb Exchange Guidelines

    Seed Collection:

Ideally, seeds should be allowed to fully dry on the plant before harvesting.  If this is not possible, cut the seed heads with a portion of the stem or stalk and store in paper bag to continue drying at normal room temperature and humidity which is sufficient to complete the drying process.

    • Seeds and bulbs must be clean and disease free

    • Package seeds 20-25 in paper envelopes (not plastic bags)
    • Label envelopes with plant name, description and planting instructions
    • Package bulbs 3-7 in paper bags (no softies, please)
    • Label each seed envelope and bag with plant name, description and planting instructions.  Include as much information as possible:  perennial, annual, biennial; color; height and width; bloomtime; full sun, part sun or shade.
    • Participants deposit packaged seeds and bulbs at Show entrance and receive 1 exchange ticket for each seed packet* and 3 exchange tickets for each bulb package.
    •  No uncleaned or unpackaged seeds accepted day of Show

          * We reserve the right to limit quantities of donations as well as

seeds/bulbs exchanged for tickets.  Questions?  Please send your

name and phone number to Carol at gilhooly2x@yahoo.com.
