Greetings Master Gardeners,
Thomas Tusser’s 1557 couplet, "Sweet April showers / Do spring May flowers," appeared in his work A Hundred Good Points of Husbandry. Originally serving as practical agricultural advice for English farmers, this line evolved into a popular proverb signifying that patience and enduring difficult times (showers) bring beautiful, positive outcomes (flowers).
After stormy weather and storms of life, let us look forward to the beauty to be found all around us! Enjoy reading our May issue of Garden Thyme. Many thanks to our contributors!
